Loosening up your muscles and stretching before you work out is a good idea, no matter what you’re doing. An injury of any kind can put you on the couch for weeks or months at a time, and you don’t want your hard work to be impeded by a strain or muscle tear. Take 10 to 15 minutes to stretch and warm up before you exercise, making sure to include all of your major muscle groups.
No matter what you’re doing or how old you are, consistency is a key component of any health and exercise routine. Showing up just once or twice a week is great, but you’ll see much better results if you can stick to a schedule and incorporate at least 30 minutes of exercise into your daily routine.
As a unique individual, it’s important to find exercises that work for you. We’ve listed three great options below, but you can always speak to an instructor at our assisted living apartments to ask for personalized recommendations!
We hope that this two-part series will help improve your health and well-being. Keep an eye on our blog page in the coming weeks and months for even more helpful resources!
